They should clean the kitchen. Fridger was pretty dirty and smelly. Most of staff are friendly but not everyone. I felt uncomfortable with one of them. Facilities were not bad but bedding was not good. There are NO WINDOW room. I hope you guys check it before you make a booking.

Avoid if have a van to park.

Located stone throw from CBD. Great view of the tower.

Difficult if have a car to access due to one-way street and inconspicious entrances. Parking underground for $18 a night is ok compared to nearby paid carparks ($16 for first hour!). Kitchens are a bit small for number of people, grossly inadequate fridge space. Pillows are so old and flat that I slept using the doona cover as my pillow and used my sleeping bag. Ventilation is TERRIBLE. Worst in room - get used to sweat. Must be horrdendous in summer. Smokers stand at front door to smoke, and stairwell stinks as a result. Seems to be dominated by long term stayers. Very noisy at night and early morning if near one kitchen due to secondary lounge area.

OK for a few nights but need an urgent chance of concept

There's definitely a few Pro's in favour for this hostel.. 1. Good location 2. spacious rooms 3. Friendly staff

But there's also a few things which in my opinion need urgent action.. 1. Homeless people squatting in front of the hostel which is also covered in vomit and Spit and cigarette butt's 2. The hostel definitely needs an Age Limit. I'm a bit older myself but it's kinda weird if there's 18. Year old travellers in the same place as some odd 60+ year old locals 3. Even if this is one of the cheapest hostels in AKL I feel like the price is to high. I've been in NZ pre covid and literally it feels like a scam paying this much for a 8 bed shared room. 4. Staff who's working in the hostel should be assigned a private dormitory. The two staff members I had in my Room (18) having sex in the dormitory.

The location is great Staff are very helpful

No charging points near the top bunk, it makes it extremely difficult when you set an alarm to be up My room was near the lounge area and people are noisy

The place, set-up all was great. Lounge, kitchen, toilets, even the signage around the halls and entrance.

Way later than anticipated due to issue at airport. Office was closed but there were instructions saying if late arrival use pin to unlock lockbox for key. Tried pin from email, didn't work, then another resident tried and looked at my booking email to check pin. I ended up laying on couch in office, hoping to get some sleep before 7 30 am bus. Person showed about 15 min later out of bed, think he was texted by other guy he verified who I was and got me a key and I was quickly sorted. Great staff.

Location is good for Intercity bus Can use kitchen and common room before checkin and after check out

They don't laundry bed sheets after check out. Only pillow covers are washed . Checkin is 2pm and checkout is 10am which is very unfair

The kitchen, bathroom and room are quite clean. This is near sky tower so you can see sky tower from the lounge. That is the best.

Always a good stay!

As always a great crew in this friendly hostel, perfect central location, cleaning done often in facilities, 2 kitchen and 1 lounge to chill in a rainy day. Easy going people, just enough to make you feel home!

I had to change my room because the previous was to warm, and very noisy, but it was a 10 beds room full at the moment... But I could change my booking to go to the only ladies room wich was perfect!

Better than average backpacker in Auckland CBD

Very close to Intercity bus terminal, plenty of eateries as well as a huge Countdown nearby. AC sockets at each bed. The bed was really comfortable and they seem to care about cleanliness in the shower.

The "have a free earplug if you can't bear loud environment, because we don't want to stop people screaming histerically in the kitchen at 1 am" is a bit disturbing.

Comfy beds, large kitchen, close to CBD without being on main st, bathrooms were very clean, will give you proof of address to open a bank account if you book for 4 nights!

There was a definite smell in our room that didn't go away that was only masked when the air con was on. Was in the room while they "deep cleaned" and nothing was really cleaned all that well minus a quick vacuum and window clean. Lots of longterm stays so if you got put in their room, they had stuff EVERYWHERE meaning there was very little room for your stuff.
